A380 at SPL, July 15th 2010

Today was a day that will be remembered at Schiphol. This was because of the first visit of the Airbus A380 (aka 'The Whale'). It's visit was for the airport to check if they truely were ready for such a large passenger aircraft. The aircraft was in the colors of Airbus Industries, and is currently used as test aircraft, but is going to be used as first A380 VIP aircraft, The A380 first made a fly-over, to land at the Polderbaan around 09:45. After the landing it taxied to a buffer area, and later on it taxied to the gate so there could be made some test turn-arounds.

During the day we didnt only chased the A380, but also made a few stops the Polderbaan and the Zwanenburgbaan. Besides the A380, there wasn't to much special coming in today. Nevertheless we enjoyed ourselves with the regular traffic.
Around 17:45 the A380 took off again back to Toulouse, wich ment the end for our day as well. I got to say that seing this aircraft is one hell of a sight. When you see it, it looks like a flying flat is coming by. Hopefully you'll enjoy the shots below as much as i do!
